2015 Fall Ball Re-Cap
West Kelowna Minor Baseball ran a successful Fall Ball program for its players from 9-18 years old. The programs which were divided up into 3 programs. such as the 8-11 year old program run in conjunction with the City of West Kelowna, the 13U program and the combined 15U/18U program.
The Community Program for 8-11 year-old’s did not play any games, instead it was run as a camp style program with program focusing on skill development including the 5 fundamentals (Hitting Power, Hitting Ability,, Catching, Throwing & Defensive Play). Coaches for this program were Tom Katelnikoff, Rich Swift & Euan Robertson. The 8-11 Program ran for 10 sessions, starting on September 9th thru October 14th.
The 13U Program run by Patrick Wielders and Rich Swift focused on preparing players for the next level. They played 14 games and had 5 practices over a 5 week period. They also participated in a Tournament in Kamloops.
The combined 15U/18U Program also had a great fall season 6 15U players alongside 14 18U players participated in the Fall Ball Program. They played 19 games and had 10+ practices. The team traveled to Chilliwack and Kamloops as well as participated in the Okanagan College/Okanagan A’s Fall Tournament, where they had a respectable 2-2 record. The program gave players an opportunity to develop their game for next year, where West Kelowna expects to field a strong team.
An announcement will be made shortly regarding the Winter Ball Program, which will be beginning at the beginning of January and run through March.
